Veg Tanned Kip Leather Hides 2-3 oz - Whole and Half Sides

$99.00

These are the veg tanned kip hides (young cow/calf skin) that I use every day to make wallets, notebooks and much more. These calf hides are 2-3 oz thick, veg tanned, natural and unfinished. They take leather dye beautifully, dyeing brighter than other veg tanned leathers I use. The hides are clean and smooth, and softer and more flexible than veg tanned full grown cow hides. Kip hides are more dense than their full grown cow counterparts, making extremely durable products. This veg tanned leather stamps cleanly and wet molds beautifully. These excellent quality hides are truly a joy to work with.

**The current sides I am getting average almost 18 square feet, about 1/3 larger than the hides I had previously been getting. My prices are now adjusted accordingly.

I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services. (b) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

Information Sharing and Disclosure:

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
-Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.

I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

MONOGRAMS:

I can stamp your name, initials or whatever you like on most of my products.

Monograms are 1/2 inch tall letters, all caps. Using my heat stamping machine, monograms stamp cleanly and beautifully. See an example in the color swatches photo on most listings in my shop.

**Please note that all sales are final for monogrammed products.

LEATHER CARE:

Properly cared for, my products will last a lifetime. We have seen leather items from the civil war come in the shop that are still in excellent condition because they were cared for properly!

Over time, leather dries out and needs to have oil put back into it. I use Fiebing's Neatsfoot Oil Compound on my leather, and I highly recommend it. See the Leather Hides & Supplies section of my shop to purchase a bottle.

**Never use Mink Oil on my products because it will rot the nylon thread and is NOT covered in my lifetime guarantee against defects.

OUT IN THE RAIN:

Water will not damage my products. While the finish I use is water resistant, you may see some water spotting, especially on light colors. The lining I use is a waterproof rip-stop nylon which will keep out the rain so you need not worry about your electronics and other items getting wet when you get caught out in the rain. Because, lets face it, that happens to all of us!

Water will cause leather to dry out more quickly, so if your bag gets wet frequently, you should put oil back into it more often. (see Leather Care above)

LIFETIME GUARANTEE:

My goal is to make the absolute best quality products possible; therefore, I guarantee everything I make for life against defects in materials and workmanship. With this in mind, I use only the finest quality leather, nylon thread, rip-stop nylon lining, solid brass and stainless steel hardware available. If something goes wrong and it is my fault, I will happily fix it for free!

I can never have enough of your leather...there’s something about it that makes us feel different than the others. Here’s what I did with the remaining leather I had purchased from you previously. My daughter loved her new handbag. Thank you for being so Quick to ship and providing clean huge hides!

Brian,.... I can’t thank you enough for getting these two hides to me so quickly. And the quality is 5 stars PLUS if that were possible. I’ve purchased a lot of veg tanned calf hides before but these aren’t even in the same class. Hope you’re able to obtain andsell these for many years to come! You’re a True Blessing for us Crafters!
